FROM THE FERRIS WHEEL

Speaking of theme parks – this is an overview of the Herbstfest Rosenheim, which takes place once a year in August. This is looking south towards the Alps over the city of Rosenheim. It was actually taken with the 8mm Fisheye lens, but I decided to remove the distortion.

I have also done a timelapse video of the fair last year.

Rollercoaster Heaven

I love theme parks. During my time in the US I had the chance to visit Six Flags Great Adventure, home to 13 rollercoasters. The wooden one in the foreground is called El Toro and one of the best ones I have ever been on.

This is an HDR shot composed out of 5 single exposures.

burjkhalifa

One of my favorite buildings of all time. Designed by Adrian Smith.

Tallest structure ever built: 829.84 m
Building with most floors: 160
World’s highest elevator installation
World’s fastest elevators: 64 km/h
Highest vertical concrete pumping (for a building): 606 m
First world’s tallest structure in history to include residential space
World’s highest outdoor observation deck: 124th floor at 452 m
World’s highest installation of an aluminium and glass facade: 512 m
World’s highest nightclub: 144th floor
World’s highest restaurant (At.mosphere): 122nd floor at 442 m
World’s highest New Year display of fireworks.

The Lantern

This was taken a looong time ago – in fact, it was taken at my first assignment in Dubai, a charity event at the Montogomerie Golf Club if I remember correctly.

The Flash Experiment

This should be filed under experimental photography more than anything else. It is a long exposure shot with a single flash fired multiple times around the car, which creates one light spot each time.

Breaking

This was on the coast of South Africa, somewhere along the garden route. Can’t recall the exact location right now – but the coastal area in general is absolutely beautiful. I really like the color palette in this shot.

My Way...

… well you know how it goes. A very “boring” shot in the sense that it’s just standard in every amateur’s portfolio nowadays. Why am I posting it regardless? Because I really wonder what the red light trail on the line on the very right is – somebody must have stopped or even turned halfway there while I took the shot. Thinking of it, it looks like there is a small service road or so leading down.

On the Verspa

This was part of the fashion and hairstyle shooting I did a while back, there are some more images on the blog. In hindsight, two things bug me with this shot – the light shining on the brick wall (this was inside, so it came through a window) and the left side of her face is slightly too dark. The client liked the shot though.

When in Paris

… you need a shot of the Eiffel Tower. I do like the angle and the movement. Should really post more event photos and portraits, but I really enjoy urban and street photography.

The Towers

It was a very foggy night in New York City with really low clouds, and the city lights cast an amazing glow on the buildings. Took this shot with the fisheye and decided to correct the perspective in photoshop for an extreme wide angle look.
