I had the opportunity to capture this shot in a constant hunt for a great scene in the perfect light at the Sabi Sands Game Reserve in South Africa. This one was taken early morning on a bright sunny day. The rather old male lion (you can see he isn’t the youngest anymore by looking at the disappearing mane) was taking a stroll and we followed him for a quite a while. It was also amazing to hear him roar.
