Fireworks at the happiest place on earth

In March 2011 I had the pleasure to visit Disney World in Orlando. There is no denying the Magic Kingdom puts a lot of smiles on your face. This is their daily firework display – it was actually quite tricky to get some good photos due to the amount of people on the main plaza. I thought this would nevertheless make a good photo for NYE. Enjoy your night!

The Atlantis Lobby

The lobby ornament made of glass at Atlantis The Palm on Palm Jumeirah, Dubai. The hotel was opened in September 2008, just a few weeks after a fire broke out in the lobby. The damage could be fixed just in time and the property opened with a pretty amazing firework.

This Kid looks scared

He doesn’t look too happy in there does he? Taken at Herbstfest Rosenheim, this roundabout is called “Playball” by the way.

Spring Tree

A beautiful tree at the shores of Cayuga Lake on a clear early spring day. The area around the Finger Lakes in the north of New York is full of beautiful landscapes. Looking back, I do miss it at times.

Roofs of New York

Took this shot from the Empire State Building observation platform on a clear day in February. If I recall correctly this shot should be looking at the north west.

Reading on the Seine

Beautiful scene on a warm late winter day in Paris.

Hands up for Armin

Armin van Burren, arguably the most popular trance DJ and producer of today, at one of his many gigs in Dubai – this event called Peppermint Experience had the ever so popular all white theme. When Armin stood in front of the booth after his gig I was able to get this shot with the Fisheye.

The Laser Original

A shot taken at Sander Kleinenberg’s gig at Peppermint Experience in Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai.

The other side of New York City

During my visits to New York City I spent a few long evenings in Manhatten trying to get some interesting night shots. While the city is interesting, the nightly rides on the subway often showed its poor side.

Football in Paris

in February 2009 I visted Paris for a few days – part of what I enjoyed about the city were the activities going on all around. This group of people was playing football in a Park. Two things I enjoy about this shot: 1) The player wears a Zidane shirt and 2) the whitish look I went for due to the backlight, which creates a sort of washed out look. I think it works well.
