Lisbon’s Oriental Station designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava for the EXPO 1998. He was inspired to this building by rising trees, which is very visible on the train level. The lower levels are almost entirely bare concrete, giving the building a very raw and industrial feel, which is in contrast to the roof construction. One of my favorite pieces of architecture.
